Romantic comedy based loosely on the classic fairy tale. Lucy Hale stars as Katie Gibbs, a talented young singer who suffers mistreatment at the hands of her conniving stepmother, headmistress Gail Van Ravensway (Missi Pyle), and stepsister, Beverly (Megan Park). When Luke (Freddie Stroma), the son of a record label owner, enrolls at her school, Gail, hoping to get her daughter a recording contract, forces Katie to pretend her singing voice is actually her stepsister's. Believing Beverly to have a great talent, Luke begins to fall for her, much to the disappointment of Katie who has already developed a crush on him. How long will Katie be able to put up with Gail and Beverly's antics before the truth comes out?

We actually thought this was a really sweet movie. 8 year old daughter's review: 'Young children age 5 and over will be given more confidence in singing and playing the guitar. I thought this was a brilliant movie and different to the usual Cinderella.'

I have watched this film and pretty much crinched.. a let down after the other Cinderella Story films, I wont watch again

Painfully bad

If you're not already feed up by the gazillions or so Cinderella stories then here is the chance to waste another 88 minutes of your life that you will never get back. Dull and wooden actors and a silly and predictable storyline awaits you, and after sitting through this in pain you will long for a root channel session with your dentist.

Half a star because the movie was in color.
