On the way through the mountains during a hiking trip, three young couples are met by a group of perverse locals--including Tyler Trout (Gary Busey), a man obsessed with murdering chickens--before making camp in a seemingly vacant cabin. However, the group is unaware of the evil presence lurking in the cabin's basement; a man named Jeremiah is watching them through a crack in the floor, ready and waiting to exercise his inner demons on anyone who has the misfortune of crossing his path. Jeremiah is haunted by a terrible childhood trauma in which he witnessed the rape and murder of his mother. Now, the thought of revenge leaves him with murderous desires. While the campers rest in fear of who (or what) is hanging about outside the cabin walls, they are yet to behold the horror that dwells beneath them.

A group of dope-smoking, sex mad city kids go on a camping trip, find an old cabin in the woods that they think is uninhabited and spend the rest of movie running from a psycho-killer traumatised as a child by being forced to watch the brutal rape of his mother. Co-director Corby Timbrook does nothing to elevate his mediocre bloodbath above the rest of the standard hack-and-thwack pack. Gary Busey pops up to utter a few funny one-liners but this is one slasher terminally unbalanced by far more narrative flaws than usual even for this genre.
All talk. No action. What the hell is it about anyway? Dull with very little thrills or excitement.
'A crack in the floor' has got to be the worst film I've ever tried to watch.
It was so dreadful that I could not stand to watch any more than half way through; The effects were terrible, the story line was weak and there was absolutely no character building. I feel that all copies of the film should be destroyed so that more people cannot be subjected to the mostrosity that is 'A crack in the floor'.
It left me wanting to peel off my own eyelids rather than watch it.
