      Totally brilliant.

I'm a sucker for any series about this time-spread, but this really is great. Don't miss it !!

      Absolutely dreadful

I gave this a grudging half-star because the first location was lovely to look at BUT the acting was so wooden and the dialogue so banal that I switched off ... read more »

      Brilliant

Period drama at its best. This mini-series follows the fortunes of a group of friends, through their schooldays in the 20s to later life.

The acting ... read more »

      Customer Review

Having read the books, I wondered how on earth they would manage to do them justice on the television. I have to say, I thought the acting was absolutely first-... read more »

      Play it again!

This is a modern saga that needs to be watched very carefully as all the characters (both those important to the story line and and the not so important) flit ... read more »

      Not to be missed

With such a cast this is one not to be missed. I enjoyed watching it in 1997 and it is equally good now. A good adaption of Anthony Powell's books too.
