a tv series london week endBy a customer from Leicestershire , 27 Jun 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]I did not know that this was a series from the TV when I asked for it it was quite funny but I got thoroughly fed up with the intro at the beginning of each of the 6 in the series.
Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008This series was made a quarter of a century ago but it has more than stood the test of time. Judi Dench and Michael Williams are superb as the socially awkward couple who bumble along without ever having the courage to admit their feelings to each other, and the writing (by Bob Larbey) is poignant, painful and witty. A couple of the episodes don't really work - the pretentious 'luvvie' Harry character who pops up a couple of times isn't very believable, while Dench's sister and brother-in-law are a bit twee at times. But the scenes where Mike is inexplicably mistaken for Rolf Harris in a restaurant, and where Mike takes a terrified Laura to the dentist, are worthy of a place in anyone's DVD comedy collection.
FantasticBy a customer from Scotland , 10 Aug 2006I loved this as much as Series 1. Judi Dench and Michael Williams are such great actors, the characters believable and the script hilarious. Can't wait for Series 3 to finally come out in a format that doesn't require an American DVD player to watch!!
Not as good as the first seriesBy a customer from Bristol, England , 04 Aug 2006I agree with the other reviews that this second series isn't as good as the first although I did manage to make it through to the end!
hmmmBy Cath from Coventry , 29 Jun 2006Enjoyed series one on re-viewing recently, but didn't make it through this second series. I'd forgotten how lame the second series was. Simply unfunny, despite the lovely Judi Dench and Michael Williams. Oh dear..
