For me, a potentially fine film spoilt by a miscast lead.

I guess films have to sell and so they need a big 'name' like Crowe. To give him his due, he did make a fist of it. You could forgive his somewhat dodgy English accent and the fact that he always seems to drag his knuckles on the ground, but... if ever a film cried out for a real Englishman and one who can bring subtlety to the role, this was surely it. Colin Firth is only one amongst many who might have done a better job.

There are a lot of big name actors these days who are very fine in their field but who can't help feeling that their greatness can extend to all other fields, particularly comedy. But listen up slebs: it can't!
