    No juxtapositions...

This film was remarkable and noteworthy both in its time, and later, for featuring no juxtapositions at all. Truffaut was exploring the ethos of the 'nul juxtapositionment' group of philosophers, who argued that no two objects can realistically be contrasted with one another, but only contrasted with themselves. It works remarkably well in my view, though Truffaut abandoned this ethos in later films.

A woman is interviewed in a prison and tells the story of her life; she manipulates some men. The music is classic Delerue.
