    Brilliant - A Must for any history buff

    Professor Schama tells the history of Britain in such a way that it leaves you wanting to find out more about each subject he covers.

    If this bloke was my History teacher when I was a school, I swear I would have taken my degree in the subject. Five Stars.

    Brilliant

    This 'grand sweep' of British history is superb, especially in the way it skillfully combines the militaristic/political/constitut ional/economic 'thread' alongside the social, the personal and the humanitarian; ie I suppose what might be termed 'macro' history and 'micro' history, and the way they interact. The scholarly credentials of this series, together with Schama's brilliant delivery, and the use of re-enactments and sweeping camerawork, make this an excellent series.
