That Laurence Olivier could ham it up with the best, or worst, of them is proved unquestionably as he takes on the role of a Maurice Chevalier-like boulevardier helping lovelorn youngsters to a happy ending. The adults (Sally Kellerman, Arthur Hill, David Dukes) are so overdrawn there's inevitable sympathy for Diane Lane, the American girl in Paris falling for Thelonious Bernard despite family pressure. Charming and entertaining fluff; watch for Broderick Crawford's abrasive cameo appearance.
