Very funny indeed!
By a customer from Hants , 24 Nov 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Twice as funny as the original Pink Panther mainly 'cause Sellers takes centre stage. He's absolutely brilliant in it. So many classic scenes and gags. 'Your coat'...'Yes tis my coat dear' !
Recommended. Austin Powers kind-of silly humour so if you like that type of comedy go for this.- Was this review helpful to you?

(26)Best Pink Panther
By a customer from Hampshire , 05 Jan 2011I have watched the entire Pink Panther series back to back now and this is the one that I would have say in my opinion is the best of the series.
Peter Sellers slapstick comedy shines in this film, showing him as the comic genius that he is, the timing is delightful, story is slightly thin on the ground, but that is made up for with gags and jokes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Weakest of the series
By porthos (48 reviews) from Huddersfield , 26 Jun 2009This is the first in the series and in my opinion the weakest. It is a bit slow and Clouseau's character is not fully revealed here. The laughs are a bit thin on the ground. No,not one of his best.- Was this review helpful to you?

Superb
By a customer from London , 27 Mar 2009A Shot in the Dark to my mind is by far the best of the Pink Panther series. The reason is subtle, comic timing, taken to a genius extent by Peter Sellers. However, he is given able support by all the cast, particularly Herbert Lom.
The 70's Panther films, although still funny, rather went over the top, in an almost slapstick manner for the laughs. The humour of Shot in the Dark is far more sophisticated.
Basically, this film is a comic masterpiece. The billiard scene is hilarious. But so is all of it.- Was this review helpful to you?
