reality revisited
By a customer from Gravesend , 14 Jan 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
outstanding film.shows harsh reality but at the same time peppers it with some entertaining element.we in the city and staying abroad are unaware of what is happening in the outskirts and villages. but we like to close our eyes to these and try to applaud only mushy films like i hate luv stories , and the like. ajay devgan as usual is mind blowing, akshay khanna, paresh rawal and the officer who helped ajay and akshay and the other shool characters were also outstanding.after along time i have seen a film which has stayed with me for awhile- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)ok bollywood
By algiebugs (7 reviews) , 07 Aug 2012ok, typical bollywood film, the story was good, the acting was all right,( and of course the odd song and dance, why?)as this was a serious subject. The subtitles were way too fast. I really found it hard to catch all the subtitles, as they are the fastest I have ever seen in a foreign film, apart from that the film was not bad. It gives you a little insight into the medievil world of honour killings, and in this day and age, this is not acceptable in a modern world- Was this review helpful to you?

Well scripted, well directed movie.
By videsh77 (1 review) , 18 Jan 2012One of the best movie I ever came across, giving good social message. All the actors worked well, besides Akshay Khanna. I felt him unconvincing for CBI officers role.
Certainly one should watch this movie to understand how social system works in the farlands away from Metros.
No doubt since lack of love story & hit song, why this movie was a disaster at box office.- Was this review helpful to you?

Hard hitting yet entertaining fare from India
By Dawud (2 reviews) , 02 Jan 2012This is an oustanding film and deserves a wider audience. It wasn't well received in India but thats partly due to people wanting to close their eyes to what is really happening in their countries.
Akshay Khanna, Ajay Devgan and Paresh Rawal are on top of their games. As someone who has only been watching Hindi films for just over a year this was one of the first ones I saw at the cinema in 2010 before renting it again recently. I found Rawal's acting in a negative role so convincing that it was a suprise to find that he mainly does comic roles these days. He is a very versatile actor.
The film is hard hitting and violent and the issues are tackled head on, but for me it is the developing relationship between the two investigating officers Devgan and Khanna with different ideas that provides one of the films highlights.
As for the subtitles, I fail to understand the 'hoo haa' about them and they don't diminish the filmatic experience in any way. I never notice them after the first couple of minutes of a good movie.- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth a watch
By a customer from Basildon , 05 Mar 2011Good storyline, but disappointed it wasn't wider advertised as being subtitled. Really difficult to keep up with the subtitle and reduces enjoyment of film when having to read the bottom of the screen all the way through the film.- Was this review helpful to you?
