Blisteringly wierd and genuinely disturbing
As you would expect from a movie about photography, Ab-Normal Beauty is stylishly shot and visually stunning.
The plot is on par with big budget American slashers like Scream, keeping you guessing right til the end. There is also just enough philosophising about the practice of art and photography to lend the movie some credibility and judging by the artwork in the movie, Oxide is passionate about painting and taking pictures, a passion which comes across very strongly in the composition and editing of the film.
All round, this is the best Chinese movie I've seen yet.
