2002 Christmas special of the Emmy award-winning series devised and written by Jennifer Saunders. While Patsy (Joanna Lumley) has embarked on a new career as Creative Director and Buyer for Jeremy's, a new concept fashion store, Eddie (Saunders) is becoming increasingly bored by Saffy (Julia Sawlha) and Bubble's (Jane Horrocks) company. After taking London Fashion Week by storm, Patsy has a new taste for flash photography, frocks and male models and sets her sights Stateside. In the meantime, Eddie discovers that her long-lost son Serge (Josh Hamilton) is living somewhere in New York - and despite Saffy's efforts to keep his exact whereabouts a secret, she also decides to descend on the Big Apple. Edina is particularly excited about tracking down her son when she discovers that he is gay. But will Serge turn out to be the Queen of Camp that she has always longed for, or will he be a square disappointment like Saffy?

Not so much a lame duck but an old one.

Some of the old magic can be seen is this special episode, but it pales in comparasion to the original episodes.

The episode is still a good old ab-fab romp but it is an ugly sister to past glories, and the presence of whoopi goldberg just reaffirms how desperate the writers were to break the states at the expense of the british audience.

Still a laugh, but some how you feel it was ab-fab by the numbers.

'Absolutely Fabulous - Gay'.

The title of this Sitcom says it all.

Edina is in her element as she has just discovered her Son is Gay and is searching New York, trying to find him.

The humour is very funny, with one-liners spilling out the whole time.

Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, June Whitfield, Julia Sawalha etc., all give wonderful performances.

If you don't laugh at their antics, then you really need to find a sense of humour !!!
