Doctor Dolittle meets The Crying Game in this smash-hit comedy that made Jim Carrey an overnight sensation. The rubber-faced star plays a bumbling, Hawaiian-shirted detective hired to find the kidnapped dolphin mascot of the Miami Dolphins football team in this fast and furious farce. Your reaction to the film will largely depend on whether you find Carrey's distinctive style of extremely physical comedy — often compared to that of Jerry Lewis — stupidly hilarious or downright annoying.
