This documentary is truly heart felt, moving and very informative, taking the viewer across the world to the sites of some famous 20th century battles. The haunting music and the interviews with survivors, de-miners and others, only adds to the tragedy this programme evokes.

If you want to learn the ongoing human cost of war, after the guns have long since fallen silent, then you should definitely watch this.

  • A message that needs to be heard

This documentary is sad but carries a message that needs to be heard over and over again in our generation and for generations to come. It shows some of the damaging consequences of war for individuals, families, communities and environment in France, Russia, Germany, Vietnam and Bosnia-Herzegovina. However, it also represents situations that can be seen in many other countries and lives.

  • Some interesting facts

Some interesting facts but not enough to fill 1hr 15mins. It was padded out with a lot of emotive language and too many lingering screen shots. A touch confused between a factual documentary and a piece of anti-war propaganda. I think this could have been made into a 30-45min documentary which would have been less directly emotive but would have brought the anti-war message home in a more concise, punchier and effective manner.
