Age of Consent

Probably a product of its time (late 60's). It seemed a pity to waste good actors on this flimsy nonsense.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Sun, sand and light
By Omayyad (3 reviews) , 03 Dec 2012A visually attractive film with a naive, pantheistic sense of colour and people's natures by one of Britain's greatest directors. It has been shamefully overlooked, and is well worth watching for its unforced sensuality, natural acting styles (James Mason and a ripe, youthful Helen Mirren), and its simple, affecting story line.- Was this review helpful to you?

A waste of time
By a customer , 27 Jul 2011An inconsequential film redolent of the 60s and wasting the talents of Mason and Mirren. There didn't seem enough narrative to fill the 102minutes. I disliked the caricatures of several of the Australian characters.- Was this review helpful to you?

Late Work
By FrankIV (506 reviews) from Cirencester, England , 16 Oct 2010This is an amusing, extremely good looking film remarkable only for the bringing together of talents you wouldn't necessarily expect to find in the same place: late direction from Michael Powell in decidedly avuncular mood, the great James Mason, the soon-to-be-great Helen Mirren and, providing comedy in a broader vein, Jack McGowran. Interesting rather than good.- Was this review helpful to you?
