This is NOT, as a previous reviewer opined, a 'Very traditional stand and deliver performance'. The sets do not dwarf the singers nor do they cause distraction.

I'm glad that I didn't allow such a comment to affect my decision. To date, this is the strongest that I have disagreed with another reviewer. In my opinion, this is a very fine production with a beautiful wardobe, gorgeous sets and marvellous music.

The singing is wonderful and heartfelt and most of the acting is good (Pavarotti is a little wooden in a couple of scenes).

Overall, a very good evening's entertainment from Price, Pavarotti and Toczyska.

About the reviewer: Strider

Can't watch any 'family' film - they always contain some 'cute' child whose one-liners could only come from an adult. Children just don't speak or behave like that you stupid writers! :) I'll probably avoid USA films: they seem to be the most predictable and annoying of all. Taking a fancy to Oriental films just lately.
