Great action

Nothing extraordinary in terms of story. The usual stuff - Russians hijack American Presidents plane along with his family. Even after the terrorists are eliminated, there are tense moments.
Its a classic edge of the seat thriller, if you dont mind the logic in someplaces.
Harrison Ford plays the action hero American President who takes on the terrorists.
Glen Close adds pep as the Vice President who steadfastly stands by her superior even in times of adverse situations.
Its good for a sunday evening with your mates or family.

Americans 1 Russians nil at 30,000 feet.
By ProfOllie (6 reviews) , 12 Jan 2013Excellent action packed roller coaster. OK, it is another America saves the day movie, but the plot is well constructed and the tension is present throughout. There are some great twists and gripping action scenes as well as some wonderful stunts. I had a great time watching it and recommend it highly. Yes to the action, no to the underlying ideological content
By JohnCotton (1 review) , 21 Sep 2012If you can bear the very basic Americanism and anticommunism of this kind of product, and only focus on the action and the interactions between the baddies and the goodies, this film is for you. Dreadfully simplistic and propagandist in ideological terms, but quite efficient when it comes to a certain kind of suspense. I prefer to think of Harrison Ford as clever anti-nazi Indiana Jones than as do-gooder President James Marshall.- Was this review helpful to you?
