The Americans love their president and Hollywood loves putting him into its movies. And who better to play him as a highly decorated war hero than Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford. Here, when the First Family is held hostage on board the presidential jumbo jet, Air Force One, by a ruthless gang of Russian terrorists led by Gary Oldman, President James Marshall (Ford) decides to fight back and escapes into the plane's hold. Meanwhile Vice President Glenn Close is left to take Oldman's phone calls in Washington. If you liked Die Hard 2, you'll enjoy the midair mayhem in this stunt-filled thriller that's brimming with nasty villains and daring deeds.

    Great action

Nothing extraordinary in terms of story. The usual stuff - Russians hijack American Presidents plane along with his family. Even after the terrorists are eliminated, there are tense moments.

Its a classic edge of the seat thriller, if you dont mind the logic in someplaces.

Harrison Ford plays the action hero American President who takes on the terrorists.

Glen Close adds pep as the Vice President who steadfastly stands by her superior even in times of adverse situations.

Its good for a sunday evening with your mates or family.

    Must watch DVD

    air force one!

gary oldman films for me are always superb, his attention to character and his flawless style of acting, is always mesmerising, harrison ford on the other hand tends to stick with the same caricature, it works well, but tends to be a little predictable, the plot for this film is simple enough, but well executed, great supporting cast in the form of glenn close and the super william h macy.

    Harrison Ford at his best

This action packed thriller must be one the best Harrison Ford has starred. It keeps you at the edge from start to end.

    Pants.

A terrible film made moreso by the fact that Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford are in it.

This director is the same half-wit that made 'the perfect storm' which was another action film carefully spelled out for tasteless. It's a shoddy re-hash of 'Die Hard' without the characters, originality or anything else
