Still RockinBy Martin White from Birmingham , 07 Jul 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]I first saw this film in 1994 at The Electric Cinema in Birmingham. The Electric was a small cinema that picked up many films that were not getting a mainstream release at the big cinemas.
That was the case with Airheads, and consquently this film has passed a lot of people by. It stars Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, Adam Sandler, but at the time the only one of these guys I'd heard of was Buscemi from Reservoir Dogs.
The film follows these guys who are trying to make a success of their rock band The Lone Rangers. They try and get their demo played a on a local rock radio station, and accidentally end up taking the stations employees hostage.
The film is a little dated now, but is still really funny. I originally wanted to see this film because I was into the music, but probably anyone would like this film.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideSandler and Buscemi fail to save this Brendan Fraser dross. There are scenes that are very good and signs of the quality that Sandler, in 'Happy Gilmore', and Buscemi, in everything else, can produce, however the woefully wooden Fraser is a constant nuisance.
The worst part however is the cringe-inducing 'Rodney King' chant - I don't know what sort of racial hatred they were trying to cunjure here, I really hope they weren't comoaring that incident with this middle class drivel.
Avoid unless you are a die-hard Sandler fan and like all his terribly inane comedies.
