    Careful

Be careful if you order Akira as it comes in two DVDs with the same feature on it. If you want to watch the digitally remastered version there is no point in ordering the original feature as well.

    DISNEY this ain`t

I last saw this film an absolute age ago and i thought i would introduce my wife to it, she wasn`t sure at all. But yep, she enjoyed it. This is a grim, violent and bloody view of the future. This animated film was groundbreaking when it was released and it has lost none of it`s power with age. If anything it shows that in this day of computer generated images more traditional 2d animation can still kick cgi butt. Best watched in japanese with subtitles as the american english dubbed voiceover can be irritating. But other than that it`s a classic of not just Manga animation but of film in general.
