(5)Alaska - Spirit of the Wild
By a customer from Manchester , 24 Jan 2011Some very nice photography, but was mildly disappointed with the content and length. The content seemed dated and 'sanitized', almost pure Disney. Recent wildlife material on UK TV channels far surpasses this for sheer spectacle and amount of factual information. It was also very short considering it was an IMAX production. Worth viewing, but don't get over excited!- Was this review helpful to you?

Good but rather short.

Here in the uk, your average natural history TV program is an hour long so I found this title to be surprisingly short at just 41 minutes. It must have been expensive to go and shoot the footage so quite why this is so baffles me.
The photography is fairly stunning however and some of the glaciers, in particular the really densely packed ones that are a distinct blue colour look fantastic. I don't recall ever having seen blue ice before.
The wildlife shots are really nice too, particularly the bears. One scene in particular which shows a black bear playing in the water is very memorable.
Great for lovers of wildlife but too short!- Was this review helpful to you?

Wonderful dvd
By a customer from Scotland , 08 Dec 2006A most lovely wildlife/nature documentary, with some endearing animal scenes and a great music score to match. Also very informative about the geography and history of this region. I thoroughly enjoyed it.- Was this review helpful to you?
