A different sort of man
By a customer from Newcastle-upon -Tyne , 20 Apr 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
The first film - 'What is a head' had a lot of padding, but the second 'A man among men' is mainly either Giacometti himself talking or views of his work - fascinating if you want to know more about the man.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Good but...
By a customer from London , 24 Sep 2006...be warned about the sycophantic presenter! It's too bad we don't hear more of Giacometti speaking without the inane comments and interruptions. Even the artist seems annoyed at times...- Was this review helpful to you?

Unmissable for art lovers
By mrsdvd (59 reviews) from Twickenham , 01 Nov 2005A couple of films about the greatest sculptor, for me, of the 20th century, not enough ofhis artworks, too much of the flm makers silliness of putting modern drawings of his head (taken from photographs) onto the places where he lived and worked but notwithstanding that, an incredible film which inspired me to revise the poetry I was translating in the light of what he said, extraordinary transcendental information which is unforgettable.- Was this review helpful to you?

Serious and erudite
By Daisy65 from Leics , 18 Jan 2004A serious and erudite collection of conversations with people who knew and admired this sculptor and painter, but little sight of his glorious art works! Interesting and challenging photography and views - a DVD definitely for the specialist artist, sculptor or teacher.- Was this review helpful to you?
