Based on the classic book by Lewis Carroll, this version of ALICE IN WONDERLAND was originally produced for BBC1 in 1966 by Jonathan Miller, and is one of the more original and stylish adaptations to date. Drawing inspiration from Victorian photography and pre-Raphaelite paintings, Miller's vision was a picture of upper-middle-class society as it may have appeared through the eyes of Alice, a small girl with a wild imagination. A stellar cast includes Peter Cook, Peter Sellers, Alan Bennett, Sir John Gielgud, Sir Michael Redgrave, Wilfrid Brambell, John Bird and Leo McKern, and the music score is by Ravi Shankar.

Even Peter Cook, comic genius but legendarily bad actor, manages to act well in it.
This is a brilliant alternative version of the classic tale. I recommend highly.
David Beckham looks set to make his big screen debut in the "Pink Panther". While he unsurprisingly featured in "Bend it Like Beckham" - only archive footage was used and the superstar was not required to act. However England's No. 7 will probably not have to stretch too far if he takes on the new role - he is set to play a footballer. The MGM project is a remake of the 1963 Peter Sellers classic. In it police investigate the killing of a famous football coach and the theft... Read more
