  • Brilliantly bonkers.

    [Highly rated reviewer]

I was drawn to watch this by Andrew Lee Potts and didn't know what to expect. As it turned out it was surreal and brilliantly bonkers. The sets / CGI were inspired and the plot strangely compelling. I went to get a drink halfway through and had to blink to bring myself back to reality. I'll admit that it won't be everyone's cup of tea but give it a try. My 12 year old son was also addicted - but I wouldn't say it's a kids film.

Did I really watch it ... or was it all a dream?!!!

Clever adaptation with some good acting as well. It starts a little slowly but endure the first few minutes and then it gets into its stride. Don't try to look for sensible explanations it's just a film fantasy.

Although the ending was predictable, this doesn't detract from the merits of the film. It was well cast, with above average acting, the updated storyline was inventive and thought provoking, and the romantic sub-plot was touching and sweet. Very well done, and I'm looking forward to watching many more of Nick Willing's projects in the future.

Well worth a watch, but (spoiler alert) if you're a crier, have the tissues ready.
