Enjoyable and InterestingBy Robert from Nottingham , 26 Sep 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]I am a hard-core fan of both the Alien and the Predator films, so when I found out that hollywood were mixing the two, I desided to be optemistic, afterall, it had already been done with games and books.
The film doesn't follow on with the Alien of the Predator films, and alot of the diologue is stolen from other films (look out for the line from True Romance!), but I did enjoy the film.
The film is about a rich guy (who made the Bishop robot) who finds a pyramid under the ice in antartica. So he gathers a group of people (includeing the guy who played Spud in Trainspotting) and ventures towards the primid. When they get there, they acsidentally unfreeze a queen alien and the predators come down from the stars and, as the title would suggest, a big fight between Aliens and Predators kicks off. Some great bits, includeing an acid-blood spreying Alien.
The creatures are really well done and hold all of their original charatreistics, although the Preators no longer record snippets of conversation.
It is an enjoyable film, and the 'bullet-time' face-hugger leaps were pretty dam cool, and I would give it 3 1/2 stars, but I cant, so I'll just give it 3.

Rent itBy DVDsRock (1 review) from Chiswick , 23 Apr 2010If you like films with suspense, horror and gory scenes. You would LOVE this film. This is an amazing film that I wasn't able to stop watching! Also a little hint:
The bad guys arn't who you may think...
this should be bannedBy thefutureworks (10 reviews) from Somerton , 12 Apr 2010I am a massive fan of the aliens/predator franchise, films, comics, models but this completely ruins the heritage of both of them. Giger must be having a fit.
Also what happened to the rules of the predator, the alien to adaptable and can live almost anywhere but the predator needs extream heat so how come antarctica? I don't understand the cheapness and cheesiness of this film. Why was there no money spent of the script and effects, they have all been big films with stars like arnold schwarzenegger, danny glover and sigourney weaver. Paul W.S. Anderson and 20th Century Fox should be ashamed. This is one of the worst and most dissappointing films I have ever seen.
Good but screwed up toward the end..By davecob (14 reviews) from Sutton Coldfield , 18 Feb 2010I saw this film after i saw the sequel and i found that the second one was by far the more entertaining. It appealed more to me as a teenager and i found the storyline was meat and veg plain and simple, survive the attacking aliens and predators.
However the story in this one was a pile of sheet all the mayan aztec sort of story was just too cliche i found. On the other hand i found the action good right up until the woman befriends the predator i thought this was cheesey and ruined the film for me. However the cliffhanger at the end was good. But if i hadnt have saw the second one first i wouldnt want to after watching this garbage...
Some potentialBy Ydnaj3333 (31 reviews) from Bristol , 23 Jan 2010Although far from the quality of the original four Alien films, or the first Predator - this is not as terrible as some people make it out to be.
The storyline is not too bad at all, although I would have preferred to see what happened after the events of 'Alien Resurrection' - what is lacked was Sigourney Weaver, and the depth of the character of Ripley. Sanaa Latham unfortunately comes across as a very disappointing clone of the character. I was pleased to see Henriksen back in the franchise.
Graphically, the Aliens & Predators are very realistic.
I would put this one about mid-way in both of the franchises personally - with actually one of the best endings of any of the films.
re-invent scifiBy muggs (175 reviews) from Lincoln , England , 01 Nov 2009Possibly the best idea since the alien and predator were invented .
Theres not much i can say without spoiling the film but this puts the alien and predator up against each other yep the ultimate hunter against the ultimate prey .
We have a bunch of humans thrown in for good measure inside an aztec style temple thats a few hundred feet under the ice .
Alot of work went into this film and the production values are huge , i aint got one bad word to say about this film so i will just say WOW
