An adaptation of Robert Penn Warren's 1946 novel (previously filmed in 1950), All the King's Men boasts an impressive cast and depicts the story of Willie Stark, a fiery populist politician from the sticks who pulls the rug out from under the party machine and becomes Governor of Louisiana.

Okay film made better with the castBy a customer from London , 29 Oct 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]The film has so many good actors and the main reason for watching this was for sean penn who is such a good actor and he definitely makes the film better than it could have been. Jude Law is very good too. It is just a shame the film did not have a good editor working on the script and the length of the film too

Started weak and went downhillBy chithecynic (12 reviews) from London , 13 Jun 2010I persevered with this movie on the strength of Sean Penn and Anthony Hopkins, but even their performances could not save this turkey. A dull storyline that goes nowhere with characters brought in and promptly forgotten about again for no apparent reason. This is not worth the amount of time it takes to get through. Avoid.
Too much blah blahBy Chantal (1126 reviews) from London , 13 May 2010I gave up on that film pretty quickly, the accent was too much for me since there was a lot of dialogues.
If I could have picked no stars I would haveBy a customer from Glasgow, Scotland , 12 Apr 2010This is quite simply the worst film I have ever seen. I didn't even watch it the full way through and I have sat through some drivel so turning it off is a pretty big deal for me. Even the other half couldn't stop the film soon enough and we have tended to disagree on occasion. Awful accents that are so hard to make out that it takes a lot of effort to pay attention and any effort is unrewarded. Do not waste your time or rentals.
