An adaptation of Robert Penn Warren's 1946 novel (previously filmed in 1950), All the King's Men boasts an impressive cast and depicts the story of Willie Stark, a fiery populist politician from the sticks who pulls the rug out from under the party machine and becomes Governor of Louisiana.

Okay film made better with the castBy a customer from London , 29 Oct 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]The film has so many good actors and the main reason for watching this was for sean penn who is such a good actor and he definitely makes the film better than it could have been. Jude Law is very good too. It is just a shame the film did not have a good editor working on the script and the length of the film too

ZZZzzzzzBy PCBob (1 review) from Dewsbury , 10 Mar 2009Unless politics is your cup of tea and don't mind hours of over the top southern accents, avoid at all costs. Sleep was a constant threat whilst trying to watch this film. Some will love it, but if you require some action(of any description i.e. movement even), some pace of story line, this will bore you to tears!
All the Kings MenBy JenniferC (1 review) from Sidcup , 09 Mar 2009Enjoyed the film, big fan of Kate Winslet.
BoringBy Froggy4 (17 reviews) from Basildon , 05 Mar 2009I gave up after 20 minutes of trying to understand what was happening!
All the Kings MenBy lunarjim (2 reviews) from Malvern , 24 Feb 2009Not at all to my taste. Far too American and a real problem to follow.
I would steer clear of this one
boringBy a customer from Staffordshire, England , 20 Feb 2009we only watched 45 minutes of this film. it never got going and didn't look like it was going to. the sound quality is bad with all the actors talking in a slurred southern drawl. not sure where Kate Winslett was going to feature as we only saw her for around 20 seconds in the 45 minutes. Sean Penn was convincing when he made his speeches to the electorate but this was the only bits worth watching in the time we hung on to see if it got better. sorry all - try harder next time.
