Totally enjoyable movie about a young under-age journalist with the Mother-from-Hell, who somehow becomes part of the 1973 Stillwater Tour on his first assignment for Rolling Stone magazine where he befriends the Queen of the Groupies - Kate Hudson - and portrays wisdom and insight far beyond his years ... Very watchable. Very seventies. Highly recommended.

  • Almost a very good film

An entertaining and sweet easy watch yarn about a 15 year old boy who somehow infiltrates the 1970s rock scene in the USA and writes reviews for music publications and eventually Rolling Stone. He travels with the band from gig to gig becoming fully accepted and forms a loving relationship with a groupie. It is a somewhat implausible plot but if you can get past that then it is a very watchable good film. The scantily clad young girl used to promote the film belies a film which contains no nudity or sexual content and could have been a U rather than the 15 that it has.

Pretty good. I enjoyed some of the songs that they showed and would recommend seeing it if you are into rock music and films such as 'Bandslam'. You wouldn't believe how long ago this was made! 12 years ago and Kate Hudson hasn't changed that much at all!

Whilst not a great film, it filled a space in an uneventful weekend of bad weather. Some parts were just unconvincing and unbelievable..

I found this film touching, beautiful, thoughtful, funny and surprisingly easy to watch. Its a kind of coming-of-age/rites of passage film but its genuinely lol funny, not schmaltzy.
