Move along, nothing to see here...By Ollie from London, England , 25 Jul 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]..this is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever had the misfortune of seeing.
Director Uwe Boll has made another film based on a series of computer games from the mid 90's.
Christian Slater plays a paranormal detective, with Tara Reid playing his ex-flame. The film has something to do with orphans, and Demons from an ancient culture taking over the world. That's where my understanding of the movie ends.
As the 'story' 'progresses' (2 words missing from Boll's dictionary), you start believing you were either abducted by aliens or you fell asleep for 10 minutes, as you begin to wonder what is going on, on the screen. It actually does feel like 10 minutes were taken out here and there.
The special effects were awful, and looked like they were produced by someone submitting a piece of work for school...perhaps that just add's to the cheesyness factor.
Either way, the movie was absolutely dire, you will walk away from the movie wondering what the hell it was you just saw, and start questioning how Boll is getting funding for his next movies.
Avoid Uwe Boll and any movie he has made, like the plague. Lets just hope he doesn't balls up Bloodrayne or Far Cry.
Don't bother watching this movie unless you were a fan of the game, and if you were, you'll still end up being dissapointed.

Give it a whirl - you'll be surprised . . .By ZenZii (185 reviews) from Preston , 10 May 2013Well folks I'm afraid i enjoyed this movie, action packed and full of fire power and the odd strange creature!!! I thought it was brilliant what with Christian Slater starring. Not quite full 5 star but not far off. x x x
What is this abomination?!By a customer , 07 Feb 2013Oh man this film was so disappointing. What has this got to do with ANY of the AITD franchise? Literally the only similarity this film bears is that the main characters name is Edward Carnaby. What were they thinking? How is there a sequel?! I want my 95 minutes back.
Painful to watchBy Ann0190 (1 review) , 20 Oct 2012To be fair I was warned by other members about just how poor this film is but it wasn't until I watched it that I realized just how bad a film could be.
The story is weak at best and the acting is poor considering it has some rather big names in it. I know not a lot of good films come out of video games and this is no exception to that rule sadly.
I really recommend that you don't rent this film if you are actually do watch this then I recommend that turn it into some sort of drinking game and do look out for the cliché sexy woman trying to look smart by donning a large pair of glasses.
Most DisappointingBy chaser (7 reviews) from Umberleigh, Devon , 26 Jul 2012Found this most disappointing.
Not horrifying at all, and a sense that 'excitement'was being generated, not by dramatic tension but rather by noise and frequent inter-cutting in violent scenes.
I should have paid more regard to the weight of the reviews, rather than the film's trailer.
Not worth my time...By ZombiiPanda (4 reviews) , 08 Apr 2012..and my time isn't worth much at all.
I Couldn't even make it through half an hour. I know I shouldn't really be writing a review since I haven't even seen the film entirely but there are enough reviews from people who have seen it fully so there's no need for me to torture myself any further.
This is perhaps the worst movie I have ever seen; everything about it defies all logic. For example (I doubt you'll even care if I spoil some things) a man gets shot once; he does even react to it whatsoever and keeps going; then he gets shot again and doesn't react but just gets angry and keeps running and then he gets impaled on fairly small spike which without a doubt would kill you but the fact that he died INSTANTLY when the bullets did nothing was stupid, you'd probably be coughing up blood for a minute or two.
The acting was terrible, the effects were terrible...the whole vibe was just terrible and I wouldn't wish a viewing of this upon my worst enemy. I kinda figured if I go in with low expectations I might actually enjoy the movie but it just wasn't happening with this movie, I'd rather not waste my time watching it any further.
DON'T watch this...unless with friends in which case it might be entertaining, you'd perhaps have to get high for it to be a laugh though because it was just a soul crushing experience for me.
Uwe Boll - Stick to making movies like Rampage; they're much better!
