    Better than I expected

To be honest, I think this film has received far more negative reviews than it deserves. Perhaps people were expecting sometihng amazing, having not seen the trailer. I went into this movie expecting a routine, somewhat cheesy, murder mystery. I got that, and was thoroughly entertained. As others have said, Cary Elwes accent in the film is rather poor. After a short while though, you just don't notice. The style of the film, a documentary, is a bit odd and doesn't really work. The film could have been done without that and been juyst as good, possibly even slightly better. Rachael Leigh Cook, it must be said, looks utterly beautiful. But then, she does in all her films. Kip Pardue and Annabella Sciorra deliver decent performances. Where this film reaclly stood out, I thought, was in the creepy scenes where the killer is stalking our lead characters. The videos, the 'heroes' exploring dodgy looking houses. I found these to be expertly handled and delivered genuine nervousness. The ending is a minor let down, but not enough to really drag the movie down. Overall, I thought this was pretty darn good for an evenings light unchallenging viewing. Sometimes, that's all you need from a film.

    An unmitigated pile of cack

This evil film is so bad it has moved me to write my first ever review. It stole 90 minutes of my life that I would more happily have spent inserting rusty nails into my eyes. Please don't watch it.
