I found it really difficult to like this film, but by the end I did. The main problem with it is that it does its job too well. None of the main characters are at all likeable and it is difficult to have any sympathy with any of them. Patrick Bateman, the abhorrent protagonist, is a vain, self-obsessed, materialistic, misogynistic corporate high-flyer with all the charm of a road accident. He admits himself to be far from human and this is pushed to its limits when he turns into a cold blooded killer ostensibly because someone else's business card is better than his. This is dark, dark satire well played.
