Why doesn't this rental company take notice of comments when they get things wrong in their listings?
its not clear from the details for this dvd its subtitled - I HATE SUBTITLES!!
i found the film to not be enjoyable, however the storyline is great, could have been an excellent film, had it been better acted and directed.
i found the accent of matthew honeycutt/james brighton to be most annoying

An interesting story, yes, but it didn't really get into gear until about 25 minutes before the end! And throughout, the acting's so muted, it's as if the actors hadn't had time to rehearse any scene and were afraid of screwing it up for who they were playing against; or, the director just said 'this film is about someone losing their way in life, so act as if you've just come into a dark room with the lights off'. As a result, you don't really care about anyone in it, certainly not the main character, who's as wooden as they come. Finally, I don't mind subtitles, but this film has characters speaking one sentence in english, the next in french! I'm sure Montreal people are wonderfully bilingual, but I bet they don't hop between the languages like that - when speaking to different people, of course, but not in midstream with the same person.
If this was about a straight couple I wonder whether the film would have gotten those nominations/awards, etc. It felt like the story was written around a gay man because it is the only interesting thing about this guy (or is he really gay?????)
I simply got bored of watching after 20 mins.
Quite an enjoyable film with a gay theme throughout. The ending for me was a bit disappointing, the acting was quite good and the film was based loosely on a true story.
The film has tremendous potential, given the story but there were few attempts to live up to it. It began slowly, and then got slower...until the rapid run through events to bring the audience up to speed with what happened to the lead character to get him in his predicament.
Did someone get fed up? Pehraps someone realised a lot of film had been used on the early part exploring his angst and trepidation and decided there was insufficient to film any more. Whateve it was, the result was a disappointing filming of an interesting idea.
A work of fiction but based on a real happening, this was a real puzzle, and kept us glued to the screen to the end.
The true story the film was apparently based on gave great potential for the film, but unfortunately it was all a bit of a bore and the storyline was confusing at times. Not great.
I found this a really good tense drama. The character was really believable, and the story unfolded about the events that led up to his amnesia. Really interesting development of the characters
