Floppy DogsBy Rip from Manchester , 06 Dec 2006

[Highly rated reviewer]If all the dogs in the Disney film about dalmations, had been captured by Cruella De Ville, and made into a fur coat, there would still not be as many dead dogs around as there are in this movie.
This is a movie which captures and keeps your interest, as it traces back the lives of people involved in a road accident.
Each tale is a good story, and the way in which their lives cross over is skillful, thoughtful, and cleverly done.
Each of the stories are good enough to be a movie in their own right.
The only reason I gave ths movie a 4 instead of a 5 is well, to be honest, I'm a little squeamish.

because we are also what we have lostBy lukasz84 (75 reviews) , 18 Jan 2012alejandro inarritu's powers of film making are limitless, and amores perros is a proof. this is, undoubtedly, a landmark of contemporary cinema. a transcendental, haunting, visceral and angry masterpiece. its imagery, poetry, violence and philosophy lay down before its audience shattering beauty and unforgiving insight.
innaritu's work, which sets an entirely new benchmark for film today, does the seemingly impossible: it captures the deepest mysteries of life without doing them any violence.
no praise or reward is big enough for such bravery and accomplishment. .
More brilliant that buitifulBy Stephen from North Cornelly, South Wales , 08 Jan 2012Having worked backwards from 2010s Buitiful, I found this to be a really fantastic film. It owes much to Pulp Fiction, Im sure, but offers much of its own. The way that the dog-eat-dog theme is developed is brilliant and the interweaving of the three stories works really well. All of the central characters are excellent and the mis en scene is authentic down to the last detail. Ill now go on and fill in the gaps between an early and much later work that I really enjoyed and can highly recommend.
Must see to restore your love for moviesBy 2sa (5 reviews) , 06 Jan 2012Amazing film, and I don't highly rate just any movie as I'm so fussy.
This was well and truly gripping.
The portrayal of all three stories was masterfully executed and intwined harmonically.
Powerful film with well conveyed morals.
Life is what you've lost.... (and many more other interpretations...)
Enjoy - no doubt about it!
Canine carnageBy Sideplates (72 reviews) from Dursley , 27 Nov 2011Three very different people collide in a car crash and three very different stories unravel as a consequence. Love seems to be a dog shaped b**ch in this tale of love, death and betrayal, with the canine body count going through the roof. It's not an easy ride and rather humourless, hopeless and bleak, but it is strangely compelling and beautifully shot. If you're feeling down in the dumps, though, give this one a miss.
Amazing movieBy Tootal (2 reviews) , 15 Nov 2011Truly one of the best films I have ever seen - intense, complex, and multi-faceted yet powerful and straightforward in its storytelling. Remarkable. A must see.
