If you're craving to watch a movie of substances with a superb storyline and excellent actors, then you need to watch this movie. While the movie title is unimaginative, the movie is so much better. It's the coming of age movie of a young pretty, promising girl in the 60's.Caught between her demanding father's plans for her to go to Oxford and the exciting grown up world of classical music concerts and supper clubs that her older boyfriend introduces her to, she is faced with some hard decisions on which road she needs to follow. What I really liked about this movie is how perceptive and intelligent Jenny is (Carey Mulligan), more so than her insecure, over demanding parents. Clearly times have changed (and thank goodness) because these days a 30 something man pursuing a 16 year old would be looked at as a paedophile stalking a young woman, but in the movie, her father didn't seem to mind at all,in actual fact he seemed to have been only too eager that his child be courted by this older man, for the simple fact that this bloke claimed to know CS Lewis!!!.No questions asked. Being young, bright and pretty, Jenny wanted to know that her life wasn't going to be a continuous sameness that she sees in her parents life. But when temptation comes her way, and what seems like gold, is not all that, Jenny comes to the realisation that in life you cannot take shortcuts and cram everything you think is exciting before you are ready. Brilliant!Cannot recommend it enough, it is a must see!
