This is a truly delightful film. The acting is very strong all round, as is the story. The plot follows Jean Gilkyson (Jennifer Lopez) and her daughter, who while escaping her abusive boyfriend decide to ‘hideout’ at her father-in-laws (Robert Redford) rural ranch.
It is a simple but heartfelt journey of self discovery and redemption between the family members as they all discover aspects of themselves they did not know existed. Morgan Freeman is particularly excellent as Redford’s work mate recovering from a bear attack the previous year.
Although as others have said they plot is slow, it does not seem to matter as you sit back and enjoy both the scenery and acting on display. This is indeed a very well meaning family movie which I can’t recommend highly enough, a must see!
