Intelligent "horror"

I really enjoyed this well made, intelligent film. Not sure it is really a horror film though, more of a thriller really.
It is no where near as gory as you expect and I am surprised it got an 18 certificate. No nudity, very tasteful sex scene that you can see on TV, and minimal gore. Where on earth do the censors get an 18 from?!
Lots of extras on the DVD, and unless you hate subtitles, I would go for the German language with English sub titles option. It seems easier to follow the story and the dubbing is bad (not the voices but the matching with the lips).Well worth seeing ( I watched it twice!).- Was this review helpful to you?

A Nice, Easy Dissection
By a customer , 16 Mar 2013Despite this being in a language not native to me I still managed to follow every bit! I'm impressed. It was a good horror thriller in any language. A good plot. The camera shots were all good and Ms Potente's (Bourne Identity series) performance was as expected - very little duff acting all round. Normally I shut off subtitled movies as it's not normally worth the the trouble, but this was effortless. Enjoyed it; watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Anatomy lesson with a thrilling climax!

What a super thriller!! I was glued from start to finish.....A fairly original story-line which built up to a tense, fast paced ending!! I was worried that the subtitles would put me off but they didn't and made no difference to my enjoyment of this film..... There were some gory parts mainly showing the human body in various stages of dissection.... I would definately recommend this film!- Was this review helpful to you?

Rare German Horror Treat
By a customer , 21 Nov 2012I pride myself on knowing the best that Europe has to offer when it comes to horror cinema but unfortunately, Germany doesnt have many that are up there. Anatomy may be a pleasant exception.
Though perhaps more of an occasionally gory thriller than a horror movie- this film has a great story and is pretty well executed throughout. The Medical/Body horror canon is a limited one but this sits nicely in there as a disturbing tale which makes us fearful of the flesh and those that may wish to abuse it.- Was this review helpful to you?
