[Ferrell is] a reminder that the greatest, deepest laughter doesn't come at the expense of some other guy, but from the glints of self-recognition we get when the screen becomes our mirror
It offers episodes of such inspired idiocy that the only reasonable response is to laugh yourself stupid... if it were any more manic you'd have to put it on Ritalin
That he can make his anchorman chauvinistic, deluded and ridiculous but still manage to give him some humanity is testimony to Ferrell's comic talents
keeping it simple this is a movie made up from all the alternet scenes and variations which went into the making of the origional Anchorman film.
As such it is a moive made up of all the things which were deemed to be not as funny as what went into the origional or simply just not funny enough; and it shows when the two are compared.
That said this film is still a lot better than most of its type and especialy a lot funnier than many of the movies Will Ferrell has churned out over recent years.
I just wish that he would spend more time on quality rather than quanity! Roll on Anchorman 2 in 2010!!!
Not really worth watching if you have seen the real movie, and avoid this one if you haven't.
Anchorman is one of the best movies ever made. This film is basically an extended outtakes held together with a very tenuous plot. Disappointment for anyone expecting anything else.
When I first saw the trailer for anchorman I thought this is going to be brilliant and when I saw it it didn't have some of the funniest bits of the trailer in it. Well here they are!
Ok so this isn't going to be as good as the original but the fact that they filmed so much of it they could make a whole new movie is amazing. It the same silliness as before with a whole new plot. Well worth watching.
A good sequel to Anchorman. But whereas Anchorman had me falling off the sofa laughing, this just made me chuckle to myself!!
Obviously stuck together from the offcuts of the original movie (not that it tries to hide that), but ignore the somewhat patchy storyline, and re-live the magic that was Anchorman!!

If, like me, you think Anchorman one of the funniest films of the last few years then do yourself a favour and avoid watching this. Its not that its really bad, it just doesn't add anything to the original. If anything its just a bit confusing. Stick to the original. This one smells like bigfoots dick.
This film was so bad my wife (who is pretty forgiving about most things) ejected the dvd herself (something i normally do) my kids still haven't forgiven me for renting it.Dire!!
Compared to the brilliant original film, this amalgamation of left over material is very very poor. Trying to cobble together a story from the clips which were not good enough to make it into Anchorman was never going to be a great idea and so it proves. Only a couple of scenes raise a smile, the vast majority miss the mark by miles. The only reason I watched the whole thing was because I was ill and there was nothing else to do, otherwise it would have been turned off within the first 20 mins.
An equal to Anchorman
IF YOU ARE A BURGUNDY FAN THEN THIS IS FUNNY.WE THOUGHT SO ! BLOG GAVE IMPRESSION THAT IT WAS COBBLED TOGETHER FROM DELETED BITS FROM ORIGINAL.SOME SCENES ARE REPEATED FROM FIRST FILM, APART FROM THAT HAS ITS OWN STORY LINE.LIKED THE WAY IN WHICH CHARACTERS STORIES ARE TOLD AND DEVELOP FROM LAST ONE.

Generates enough inspired lunacy to sail past the arid stretches and provide a welcome splash of breezy, at times jaw-droppingly bizarre summer fun
There's no sense to the scene in which the boys get together for a close-harmony rendition of 'Afternoon Delight'--just pure pleasure
Anchorman is the kind of wonderful, cotton-candy escapism that should leave you with the right kind of stomach ache
