  Hopes for another Anchorman movie have been dashed after executives at film studio Paramount axed plans for a sequel. Director Adam McKay was desperate to film a follow-up to the 2004 hit, which stars Will Ferrell as a dim-witted newsreader, and even managed to convince the comedy's cast, which also included Steve Carell and Christina Applegate, to reduce their fee to appear in it.   Will Ferrell has ruled out a sequel to hit film Anchorman, because the all-star cast is too busy to sign up to the movie.
