Poor by any standards but very poor when compared to original 1970 version
By roncoach (365 reviews) from suffolk , 10 Jul 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
I have been waiting a long time to see the original 1970 version of this story, written by 2 of the great TV thriller writers
of the time, Terry Nation and Brian Clemens.
I finally saw it ( and reviewed it on this site separately)---it was well worth seeing again.
But this modern version from 2010 is a pretty poor film. I can understand someone wishing to remake the original but , in this remake, NOTHING WORKS.
You really have to see the original in order to compare, but this modern version is set in the wrong country, with the wrong changes to the original plot, with the wrong acting and directorial skills and the wrong 'feel' to the whole project.
My advice is to go see the original ( same title) from 1970, now available----it is a little gem compared to this poor fare- Was this review helpful to you?

SO GOOD I BOUGHT IT!!!
By ZenZii (147 reviews) from Preston , 31 Jul 2012Starts a little on the slow side but it is just setting the scene. After her friend disappears she is on a foreign country and doesn't speak the language, who does she turn to and who can she trust??? SHe tries talking to locals but they don't want to know and its as if the whole village disappears into snooping windows and doors closing on her. She knows one man who speaks English and seems to gravitate around him (|who wouldn't its Karl Urban) but can she trust him??? It goes into dark and mysterious scenes which keep you guessing until the end, brilliant. Loved this movie so much i bought it. x x x- Was this review helpful to you?

Waste of money
By HovePaul (21 reviews) from Hove , 07 May 2012This is about the standard of a TV movie, so I must confess I didn't watch it all. Bad man kidnaps girl in Argentina. Bored already?.Skipping through I came to the point where the girls try to escape the bad man, so they get into a car, but surprise surprise, the car won't start. Bad man disappears, where's he gone? Reappears with a boulder and breaks the windscreen with it, catches girls. Skip on.- Was this review helpful to you?
