skin deep

The film tries to add a little depth and psychological tension behind the standard killing for money story but doesn't quite succeed.

For all her angelic looks Jean Simmons doesn't have the skill to add more to her role and merely seems to be spoilt.

Mitchum doesn't have much to do and doesn't add much to his role either.

Preminagar tries to add some touches of long scenes but they only become longeurs.

Impressive car crashes though.
