This was an excellent ending to what was an excellent show. Angel fans would agree that every season was different and Season Five was no exception to that rule. In this final season, the secrets of Wolfram and Hart are finally revealed as Angel and the gang are recruited to run the LA office. It flips everything we know on its head and brings a whole new dimension to the show...its just a shame that it was cancelled so early as I honestly think that this new format completely revitalised the programme. Generally the series is more tongue in cheek than the other seasons and you can see quite clearly that the cast are enjoying themselves. Its very lighthearted (especially in comparison to the gloomy season 4) but in many ways darker than before. A highly recommended series that (like most of Joss Whedon's programmes) finished too early. RIP Angel.
Being a huge fan of buffy and angel, and following on from the best season of both shows, and considering that joss whedon should have more time on his hands - i had high expectations for this season. from the first few episodes i have to say i was quite disappointed... there was a complete rehaul of the setup of the show with the gang in charge of Wolfram & Hart. however a few episodes into the season and the quality was getting consistently better and better till the fitting finale. this season suddenly shifts gears and roars towards the end. it is a it obvious that more was planned for the show, but it being cancelled, a lot had to be crammed into the last few episodes. a new/'changed' old character is a daring and welcome addition to the gang. Oh and then theres the finale, amazing... leaving hope for more.......
