But although he had experienced success while working on films such as Amar Akbar Anthony and Coolie, his efforts as a director have not commanded the same respect as the work of his late father. His debut behind the camera, Allahrakha, was met with indifference at the box office and this twist on the Cinderella story starring Rishi Kapoor and Manisha Koirala deservedly suffered the same fate.
