Why are we not able to rent this movie? It's been out for 1 year! I really want to watch it but I can't!

  • Classic and romantic

I really enjoyed this film - great performances, beautifully shot and dressed and with a very theatrical feel, being largely based inside a Moscow theatre. Def one for theatre and classical literature fans, but my 12 year old daughter enjoyed it too. Perfect for a Sunday movie at home!

  • A tad too long

I like most others who have watched this film found it too well... Drag on. It was a pleasing adaption of the original story by Leo Tolstoy, the use of camera and theatrical work was refreshing and clever however some parts I found a bit hard too follow. Luckily I had read the book so know the story well, but I think someone who had not may have become confused. I feel as though the film was trying too prolong. If the film had been shorter I believe it would have been able to keep the attention of its audience better and the story may have been more easy too grasp. With all this said it was still a beautiful film. The music, choreography and costumes where class! Kiera knightly portrayed the role brilliantly as always! It is definitely a must watch for anyone who is interested in cultural and classic literature!

Enjoyable film with good performances from Jude law and kiera knightly but was not as good as I expected and the film was about half an hour too long.
