"Raunchy, outrageous sex comedy pushes queer cinema into taboo-busting new territory!"
"A well-lubricated, filthy comedy!"
A deeply silly but in its way mildly amusing takeoff of 'American Pie' and such gross-out films, the spoof element being that it's four 17-year-old boys who are desperate to have sex with men before the end of the summer. (And two of the actors are really rather attractive - not to mention the porn star Matthew Rush, for those who admire him.)
Like most spoofs it gets more than a little tiresome from time to time, and goodness knows why Graham Norton is in it as a Russian schoolteacher; it's all vulgar beyond belief, but it has its endearing side (if you really have nothing better to watch) in its completely - if wholly improbable - normalised vision of gay teens.
[I love the review from the 'real man' on this site who watched this and found the homosexuality so shocking it made him feel sick - bless! You'd think the title may have given him some hint ...]
I'm a little bit befuddled by the likes of Andrew Mould, who seems to think he's a latter day Mary Whitehouse . Moral censorship? This is the UK, not the Bible belt Redneck states of America. What on earth gives him the moral high ground? The title of this film pretty much says it all; if you're homophobic then surely it would be prudent not to look at it; 'methinks the lady doth protest too much' might be appropriate - if not, then such a bigoted view really doesn't count for much.
This is a film which doesn't take itself seriously, it is rude, crude and very funny. Recommended.
