A very lonely tale for a very nice guy
By driftedangel (63 reviews) from Southport , 27 Jul 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Ever notice how most hitman films usually have you like this brutal kind of psychopath? Another Lonely hitman also has this effect on you. Ryo Ishibashi (American Yakuza) plays Tachibahi,a recently released criminal, who's gang want him back big time. He causes a war when he helps a young prostitute from her Hokushin pimp who is backed by the Sato Clan. As well as the usually Yakuza violence, the film also has a strong story, with Ishibashi playing his character with extreme honor and no regrets. It's strange but 10 years pass so quickly, but for a man sent down when a camcorder was the size of a suitcase, and to now find that they fit in your palm, shows just how long 10 years is to someone on the inside. Another Lonely Himan may be slow, but it has heart even if it is thin on plot.- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Dull
By druski (102 reviews) from Leeds , 01 Sep 2008A pretty dull affair all round really. The plot is quite simple, the usual Yakuza stuff but none of it is very entertaining.
Rent Sonatine instead.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brutal Stuff
By Kevan Brighting from Birmingham , 28 Jul 2005Another Lonely Hitman is a slow-paced but utterly absorbing film noir. A curious mix of Japanese ultra-violence and tender love story, the film draws you in by way of two outstanding performances from the main leads. If you're a fan of Yazuka films, then this is certainly a film you should watch.- Was this review helpful to you?
