The beginnings of something brilliant!
All the 'classic' ingredients are there: The timing, the innuendo, Mrs. Slocombe's hair, John Inman's wrist... But these early episodes are a bit slow - the jokes are still good, but the plots are rather thin and feel stretched at times. The pilot is an interesting piece of British comedy history, but the programme definitely took a while to get into its stride!
