Surprisingly Good!
By Arcana (1 review) from Epsom , 15 May 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
This was the first time I'd played an Armored Core game and one of this genre and it completely changed my perspective of games like this.
You should definitly atleast give this game a rent if you haven't already because I really enjoyed it. The game gives excellent fast-paced action combined with amazing sound effects and music. The ability to completely customize your armored core adds to the immersive atmosphere.
If your a fan of online play then I wouldn't use it as the sole criterion to play this game. Theres virtually nobody online. When there is though the battles are amazing and the ability to missions online in co-op is a very good idea.
All In all I'd recommend this game to anyone for atleast a trial :)- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)Why I wouldn't reccommend this game
By a customer , 21 May 2013I had rented this game with high hopes of something akin to Zone of The Enders or Mech Warrior, unfortunately the graphics were average at best, with little to no real introduction in to the story. I also found the clunky controls to be unacceptable. The idea of a Japanese Anime style mecha simulator being so clunky doesn't fit with the way that the game portrays the action, it's meant to be free flowing and fluid.- Was this review helpful to you?

Armored Core for Answer
By a customer from Dudley , 13 Jan 2011Pros This was the first time, I'd played an Armored Core game and i can safely say it's a fresh Perspective and redefining a mech shooter. id played similar games such as lost planet etc but this is definitely in 'leauge of it's own' game play is nice graphics gets a thumbs up and weapons and mech selection is good.
Cons
The game engine slowed down the ps3 alot it really strugled sometimes.
Campain short rent don't buy.
All in all 5/10- Was this review helpful to you?

AC:FA
By Lidlus (1 review) from London , 06 Jan 2010As this genre tumults into ever increasing graphical sophistication and precison physics it takes on a diferent role to its predeccessor ; that of a Mech Simulator.
Only thing you need to know about this game is it makes the Boss fights from Ninja Gaiden 2, Resistance 2 and Resident Evil 5 seem like grubs in comparison to a Harvesters steak: One Boss is 6km long and you have to fight through IT in your mech!
Little know fact this game was going to be canned and would have been impossible for all non-PS3 user to play due to re-distrubition frachas withing SEGA (Booo!). I got my copy in Japanese and have had no regrets
While an ever escoteric series - this encounter brings back its old-school non-linear game progression mission system and almost makes your agree with the pencil neck bueracrats ; that a thing such as too much freedom can exist.
It is a multiplayer game and is undeniably the sleakest portrayal of a Duel to the death between 2/4 or 8 Angels of Steel. AN amazing game that is seriously under-rated.- Was this review helpful to you?

Only for fans of the series
By a customer from London, England , 20 Jan 2009Unless you are a huge fan of the Armored Core series, this is proably not going to be played for very long. The gameplay is confusing and the fighting is frantic to the point where all you do is keep shooting at things until 1. you die 2. you run out of ammo then die 3. you run out of the gameplay area and lose the mission! (frustrating on one particular mission)
The customisation is hard to get to grips with as well...so many parts and the way they interact has not been explained very well (maybe it was in the manual but nothing comes with the disc).
Fighting in huge humanoid robots is cool but this game is too hard to pick up casually and get's tiring real quick.- Was this review helpful to you?
