This movie was one of the highlights of our Christmas, it was arguably the best thing we watched. There is nothing to dislike about it and has something for everybody. The kids will definitely love it and it is not too childish for adults (ie big kids!). It has comedy and action, the perfect festive message and will go down in history as a classic that must be watched with the rest of them (Miracle on 34th, The Snowman, The Grinch etc). The fact that we watched it in 3D was an added bonus, but I'm sure it would be just as good in 2D. Watch it - yule all love it!

A Re imagining of Santa Claus A member of my family rented this one. Did not expect much and was pleasantly surprised by what it was. Yes it's a Christmas CGI cartoon and Yes it is aimed at people younger than me. I liked the idea of the elves delivering the presents with Santa used as just a figurehead. This film is different enough from other “moral high ground” Christmas films because it doesn't take itself too seriously. When the old man Santa brings the reindeer back out of retirement it feels like your revisiting childhood. There is one of those “that's my Santa” moments as far as 3D goes – This animation uses 3D very well. Characters feet seem to be coming out of the screen at points but its not too gimmicky on out of the screen 3d either. It's a good balance here.

Thoroughly enjoyable movie, I watched it post-Christmas and it brought back all those lovely festive feelings. I had the 3D version and I really didn't find much in the way of pop out affects, so if you're not fussed give it a miss. Kids should love it, someone to love, someone to hate and Father Christmas.
