Life is too short to watch films like this!
By Raysablaze (4 reviews) from Hove , 04 Oct 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
I haven't been this disappointed in a movie in a long time. It is absolute rubbish! Even without the unavoidable comparison to the classic original, for me, this movie fails on every level.
Brand's high-pitched, unattractive Arthur is irritating, unlikeable, unsympathetic and, worst of all, unfunny. I get the feeling Brand thinks he's a lot funnier than he really is and there seems to be no one around to tell him any different.
Certainly not the director, Jason Winer, who seems unable, from scene to scene, to reign in his star's self-conscious and way-off-the-mark performance.
And as for Helen Mirren, well, I can only hope that someone had a gun at her head when she signed up for this and that she kept telling herself 'Think of the money' as she sleep-walked through it, because that's exactly what it looks like.
Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time watching this.- Was this review helpful to you?

(126)Go Away Brand
By WongOrWhite (101 reviews) , 22 Jan 2013Let's get it out into the open...Brand is just plain irritating...it's that nasal mockney accent he's got or something to do with SWAG or whatever...anyway, the plot of this film isn't bad but everytime he came on screen I wanted to vomit...seriously, I'd rather be waterboarded...- Was this review helpful to you?

OK Comedy
By GaryI (785 reviews) from March, Cambs , 25 Nov 2012Basically this is the Russell Brand show, but it is quite funny if you like his style & character. Not as good as the Dudley Moore original but it's not bad. probably a remake that didn't need making but if you want to watch a reasonbly humorous comedy then this is will do the trick.- Was this review helpful to you?

ROFL - watch and enjoy
By PhillyT (2 reviews) from Middle Barton , 28 Oct 2012Brilliant - it makes a change to get a remake better than the original. I suspect there is far too much of Arthur in Russell Brand anyway which is why it makes him such as great casting.- Was this review helpful to you?
