So far I have not come across a version with an English subtitle, only Dutch ,spoken in Swedish , but it is high time it gets translated. A film of great integrity . A powerful build up of the story line with subtle development of the characters, all very credible. A famous but worn out conductor comes back to his childhood village, unrecognized. Unwillingly he revisits old wounds and at the same time makes his dream come true : to touch peoples heart with music. Nobody stays unaffected in the village. It is as if a film, that was stopped when he left as a boy, is now allowed to play and come to its end,which is not necessarily harmonious for everybody.
The film is simple and plain, yet very moving. No false sentiment, good acting. I watched it 3 times in 2 days .- Was this review helpful to you?
